    Gather the ingredients for this classic fideo recipe

    You will need some olive oil and Fideo pasta to make this dish. To prepare the sauce, you will need chicken broth, a can of tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, and some shredded Mexican cheese to finish the dish.

    Start by browining the fideos

    When you heat the olive oil in a large saucepan or deep skillet, heat it to a medium temperature. In the meantime, add the noodles to the pan and toast them until golden brown. Musgrave mentions that this is meant to enhance the flavor. It would help if you stirred the pasta constantly so it does not burn; it only takes a few minutes.

    Add the remaining ingredients to the pan

    When the chicken broth and tomato sauce have been added, sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder. Continue stirring until all of the ingredients have been evenly distributed.

    Cover and cook for 15 minutes

    The saucepan should be covered with the lid, and the burner temperature should be low. The contents should then be cooked for about 15 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.

    Add the cheese and serve

    If you want to be sure it is simple, it is a beautiful one-bowl meal, or you can serve it with vegetables or protein as a side dish. Before serving, combine the shredded Mexican cheese with the noodle dish, and do it hot.

    Leftovers will be kept in the refrigerator for three to four days, so if you make a big batch, you’ll be set for a few easy meals throughout the week.
